All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Accrington, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the selected vehicle category, is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any further requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations for vehicle hire can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Accrington office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you have purchased extra insurance. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Use of Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or participating in any hazardous pursuits. Transporting dangerous materials, sub-letting to others, or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside of designated geographical areas without prior consent are also forbidden.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Accrington disclaims responsibility for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our liability for any claims is limited to the total amount you paid for your rental in the past year.
